These scholarships are a result of a partnership with FAPSC, the Florida Prepaid College Foundation, corporate sponsor Dollar General and Volunteer USA Foundation.  This unique program provides college or career school scholarships to deserving parents and their children participating in Volunteer USA's Family Literacy Initiative.

FAPSC member colleges/career schools ATI Training Center - Miami, Concorde Career Institute - Tampa, Herzing University, Southwest Florida College, and Kaplan Higher Education donated over $170,000 in scholarships.  Read more

Region VIII Hosts Town Hall Meeting

FAPSC Region VIII hosted their first regional town hall meeting on Thursday, November 12th in honor of Rep. Denise Grimsley. Region Chair Eric Whitehouse welcomed over 30 school directors and college employees, along with Peg Elmore, Southwest Florida Workforce Development; Tom Henning, Collier County; and Warren Baucom, Lee County EDC. FAPSC President Wayne Slater presented Rep. Grismley with the FASPC Legislator of the Year award for her work on HB 1209.  This bill cuts state regulation so our schools can produce more nurses for the state of Florida by providing quality nursing programs.  Rep. Grimsley stated that she was glad she was able to help FAPSC fill in a gap of education that she did not know existed.  Rep. Grimsley was also honored with an Honorary Scholarship from Rasmussen College, Fort Myers campus in their Medical Assisting or Associate Degree Nursing program.

The event wrapped up with round table discussions from attendees regarding workforce and other ecomonic impacts in Southwest Florida. Click here to view photos from this event.

Advertising Opportunity

Would you like to reach 1 million Floridians? If you answered yes, then there is an opportunity for you to advertise in the Florida Driver's Handbook. The Handbook is distributed to every NEW driver in the state of Florida and published annually with a circulation of almost 1.5 million.   Virtually every 9th, 10th, and 11th grade student in the state receives a copy that they constantly refer to when preparing for the milestone of receiving their driver's license.

If you would like to learn more about this opportunity please contact Davis Johnson, Jr. at or via phone (904) 688-2803.

We always refer the calls to the associate member directory.  However; your company is not listed through our product/ service search you may be missing out on a lot of potential business.  Take a moment and visit the associate member directory and contact Wanda Taylor (850) 577-3139 or via email if your company is not listed properly through this search.  We don't want any of our members missing out on any opportunties.
